LABOR’S waste and mismanagement of taxpayers’ money has been further exposed today by yet another damning report to Parliament from the Auditor-General – No. 5 for 2011.
LNP Shadow Treasurer Tim Nicholls said this report showed Labor had lost control of the State’s finances.
“Across the public sector, the Auditor has found the management and monitoring of salary overpayments is poor,” Mr Nicholls said.

Queenslanders will pay more and get less from Labor’s bungled handling of the new driver’s licence system, the State Opposition said today.
LNP Shadow Minister for Transport Scott Emerson said the project budget was originally costed at $84 million in 2009, when the new system was supposed to be introduced, then blew out to $112 million in 2010 and now the final cost has almost doubled to $148.3 million.

GOLD Coast business owners concerned about the rising costs of doing business and Government waste have had their say at a round table forum today, the State Opposition said.
The LNP Waste Watch Shadow Minister Fiona Simpson and Shadow Minister for Tourism, Manufacturing and Small Business Jann Stuckey invited local business owners and industry representatives to a special meeting to share their concerns about government red tape and higher compliance costs.
Ms Simpson started her statewide forums with a visit to the Gold Coast to meet with businesses who were hurting from high cost of living pressures fed by wasteful government policies.

The LNP has called on Premier Bligh to put Queensland first and cut the biggest wasting ministers who have added billions to Queensland’s debt.
Shadow Minister for Waste Watch Fiona Simpson said, in light of another Cabinet reshuffle, the Premier should dump the Ministers who have cost Queenslanders the most with their mistakes.
